Undergraduate Education:
Majored in Biology at Walla Walla University and graduated in 2003
Dr. Hanson’s family moved to the small town of Brewster WA during the summer of 1988. His father, a family practitioner, has been practicing there since that time. He spent much of the 1990s exploring the outdoors around his home as well as in the North Central Cascades. He attended Walla Walla University and graduated from there with a major in biology in 2003, then from Loma Linda School of Medicine in 2007. His ophthalmology residency took him to New Orleans, LA for 4 years. In 2011 he happily moved back home to the Pacific Northwest, opening a private practice in Ellensburg, WA. A majority of the time he works at the Walla Walla Eye Center, and comes to John Day to perform cataract surgeries at BMHD on a monthly basis. Most of his free time is spent with his young daughter, Maya, and wife, Heidee. Other interests include astronomy, woodworking and cycling.
