About:

Katie Hughes is a Doctor of Physical Therapy originally from Dallas, TX. Katie enjoys treating patients of all ages including adolescent athletes, older adults, and anyone experiencing pain or limitation in their daily life. Since graduating, she has worked in various orthopedic settings in Atlanta, Alaska, and Boston. She believes in individualizing her care to meet the needs of her patient's specific lifestyle and passion. She encourages the patient to take an active role in their care and enjoys helping them return to what is most important to them. Her treatments consist of hands-on care along with exercises to improve body mechanics and restore function.

Katie has further training in Pilates, personalized blood flow restriction, gait mechanics, prenatal and post-partum exercises, and manual therapy.  Katie is T1 certified through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) to screen golfers and identify bio-mechanical limitations. Though it is not currently allowed under the State of Oregon's physical therapy practice guidelines, she holds a certification in Dry Needling for treatment of myofascial pain. In the future, she is interested in pursuing further certification in orthopedics and manual therapy.

Katie earned her Bachelors of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from Texas Tech University in 2012 and went on to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Emory University School of Medicine in 2015. In her free time you will find Katie watching football, hiking, fly fishing, exploring new places with her three legged dog (Taylor Mayd), and trying new recreational activities.
