About:

Melissa Smith is a registered nurse who works with homebound patients to provide in-home nursing care.  She also works with hospice patients to help promote comfort and symptom management at end-of-life.

Melissa loves working with patients and their families in their home setting, working to tailor their care to their unique needs and environment.  Melissa believes that most people would prefer to be cared for in their own homes, whenever possible.  She helps provide education and support to families caring for their loved ones, which in turn allows more patients to remain at home longer.  Being able to provide skilled, compassionate care to people in their own homes is very rewarding, and brings an additional level of comfort to patients and their families.

Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Oregon Health & Sciences University.  She has worked for Blue Mountain Hospital District since 2004.  Melissa loves spending time with her family, enjoying the rural life in Grant County.
