Our District spans from John Day to Prairie City, nestled in the Heart of Grant County in the Blue Mountains. The maintenance assistant needs to have a general knowledgeable in plumbing, heating, electrical, air conditioning, laundry equipment, phone system, sprinkler & alarm system, etc. throughout the facility. Assures the heating and air conditioning units are in safe operating order and documents per facility policy. Coordinates maintenance work with other departments as assigned by Facilities Manager. Understands and adheres to all current rules, regulations, guidelines and District policy when performing job duties. Assures that janitorial, maintenance and laundry, facility, and nursing supplies and equipment are stored in a safe, efficient manner. Assists in performing monthly fire drills and fire safety meetings in accordance with state and facility policies. Assists with providing fire safety orientation and training tours as assigned. Assists in performs daily cleaning, mopping, and disposal of garbage. Assures that the exterior grounds are maintained in a neat, orderly and safe manner. Assists with biohazard material container delivery to main hopsital campus. Perform administrative requirements (i.e. completing necessary forms, reports, documentation etc.) and submit to Facilities Manager. Requisitions and works with service technician for specialized equipment, and repairs if needed. Coordinates routine cleaning assignments with other departments as necessary. Assists the nursing department to invent, build devices that promote the needs of residents. Ability to support change as necessary for smooth operation and cooperation within a team. Assists in demonstrating new products, cleaning techniques, etc., as necessary. Assists with conducting regular inspections to assure clean and sanitary conditions are maintained, and properly stored. Maintains records of Mini-Bus and facility pickup maintenance (i.e., oil changes, lubrication, washing, tires and etc). as directed by Facilities Manager. Routinely inspects, maintains, installs and repairs equipment throughout facility as necessary. Maintains logs and records for department. Assures all documentation and required data is updated, copies are kept and available upon request. Assists in all other duties as assigned.
Basic computer skills; word, email and time keeping.
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
