About:

Matt Franklin is a Doctor of Physical Therapy originally from the Atlanta, Georgia area. He practiced orthopedic physical therapy for two years prior to working as a travel physical therapist. Matt enjoys treating patients across the lifespan, as well as across cultures and populations including older adults, athletes, injured workers, “weekend warriors,” and everyday people with aches and pains.  He practices with a comprehensive approach, using hands-on techniques, as well as exercises and activities to reduce pain symptoms, improve strength and range of motion, and restore function. Though it is not currently allowed under the State of Oregon’s physical therapy practice guidelines, he holds a certification in Dry Needling for treatment of myofascial pain. In the future, he is interested in pursuing further certifications in manual therapy, spinal manipulation, and strength and conditioning.

Matt earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Georgia in Exercise and Sport Science in 2008 and went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Mercer University in Atlanta in 2015. As a former athlete, Matt enjoys playing soccer and participating in recreational sports, but outside of work you will frequently find him practicing his hobbies of landscape photography, hiking, and fly fishing.
